Head of Operations & Field Delivery

Own the physical and technical delivery of every deployment across transit and hospitality. Hardware installed, brought live, and kept live to SLA, at rollout scale.

The role

When rollout starts, physical delivery becomes our biggest execution risk. You own all of it, and you protect our anchor contracts from operational failure.

What you'll own

The transit rollout: after-hours installs, depot scheduling, install quality and per-vehicle sign-off.
The contracted technician bench. Recruit, train, schedule and quality-audit installation and support technicians.
Device fleet health: provisioning, telemetry monitoring through UbuntuInsights, spare-pool management, RMA and warranty.
Service SLAs across the fleet (L1 remote, L2 depot, L3 swap) and uptime targets.
Hospitality deployments: TV OS provisioning and configuration, software-led and lighter-touch.
Install logistics: BOM, kit pre-staging, per-vehicle kitting and equipment tracking.
Access coordination with transit operators and hotel GMs.
Delivery metrics to the founders, and the delivery and maintenance budget.

What you bring

Field operations or rollout management experience, from telecoms, ISP, fleet, IoT or a similar physical-deployment environment.
Proven team and contractor management, with SLA-driven service delivery.
Solid project management: scheduling, logistics and quality control at scale.
Based in South Africa and willing to work depot and after-hours shifts during rollout peaks.

Bonus points

Cellular or networking hardware familiarity.
Fleet or public-transport experience.
Exposure to device management (RMS, MQTT, TR-069).
A hospitality or AV installation background.
